KREAMY 'LECTRIC SANTA "great plans laid to rest/1990-2004 5 song retrospective" $4 "After 14 years of putting this 7" together, you might as well consider this to be KLS' first release. There may be those old enough here to remember the days when Flipside magazine would herald KLS as superstars of the Florida psychpunk scene (which was mostly just them). But while the 90's were able to kill Flipside and most of the true punk rock intentions of any fan base from that era (yes, we kids see you at those wanna be art galleries, in your best dressed, spending thousands on perverted childrens art), the evil fates were only able to kill off one member of KLS, maim another, and leave one on a speed for life. Or as KLS would probably say it, now we're just a cripple and a jew. So, after 6 years, 4 cities, 3 states, and far too many accidents to count, KLS rounds up 14 years of work into 5 songs that mix tastes and technologies from just as long into a memoir of struggle that we all hope is the end of an era. This band started originally with Chad of Calloused on Drums, Link of Pontious Pilate on bass, Big Rick of Code 13, Rat Bastards, Dead Drunk, Motherfuckers, Impulse Manslaughter etc. on guitar and Andy Hefner on vocals. They recorded a 7" for Sin Fronteras and a split ep with Minneapolis metallic crust core band Provoked. Path of Destruction also toured Europe and the USA with this line up. Andy left and was replaced by Pignose of Assrash on vocals. Since the days of Hell Spawn I've thought Pignose had the most punk as fuck vocal delivery. The main influence here is Poison Idea and when you spin this sucker you will Feel the Darkness. "You get the record and think to yourself: with a name like Ye Olde Buttfuck, this band has got to be hell of harshin' or at least ill tempered. Then you put on the record and listen to the music. It's melodic, energetic and rollicky. There's a hint of bluesy country music in there too. The lyrics, on the other hand, are downright dark. It makes a good combination in my opinion. This 7" is on clear vinyl and comes with an insert that has lyrics and The Ye Olde Buttfuck Story (which explains how the band got their name). ISSUES TACKLED: Arctic death and empty bottles. They sound like if Matty Luv from HICKEY started a band with the dudes from AC/DC and TURBONEGRO. THE JOCKS were a spazzy melodic punk rock band with angry lyrics.
