Though not the most united of punk scenes, Toronto does offer some of
the best hardcore and punk going at the moment. Very different from our
dearest FUCKED UP and CAREER SUICIDE, BRUTAL KNIGHTS features ex-members
of HACKSAW, and TEEN CRUD COMBO. This 7" delivers three heavy guitar
driven garage punk tunes. It's rough, it's fast, it's loud, and it's definitely

repress of D.S.B.'s first 7"!!! Originally pressed on Devour Records
in 1997... this record is a masterpiece. Raw and unrelenting Japanese
hardcore... no fight no get is a record that will stand the test of time.

OUR WAR "traditions demo" 7" ...$3.50... "Obviously
this is the demo from this raging Canadian hardcore band pressed onto
vinyl. They play heavy old school hardcore without venturing into metal
territory, somewhat like early Sick of it All or Judge with higher-pitched
vocal shouts and more of a bitter, sarcastic, pissed off sense of attitude.
There's a good mix of tempos, never too fast, never too slow, and despite
a lack of variety it doesn't even matter, because they never let up and
they're good at what they do. .. The 7" comes in a simple one-sided
xeroxed sleeve that only folds over about 1/3 of the way on the back.
The record has blank white labels with the band name handwritten on them,
and a tiny one-sided insert is inside with some band photos and the lyrics.
And the lyrics kick ass, by the waySą "You can't teach old dogs new
tricks, Throw out slogans see what sticks, The real world eats you alive,
It takes more than patches to survive." Nothing fancy, just the guts,
and this thing's limited to 500 copies. If you want one, I recommend acting

DS-13 "no one will thank you when you are dead" CD...$9... "Raging
hardcore from Umea, Sweden. Unlike a lot of Swedish bands this is more
of an old school US hardcore sound than a Discharge influenced sound.
Similar to early DRI, Minor Threat, Agnostic Front, and Negative Approach.
Really powerful and pissed off hardcore. Have done two large US tours,
numerous European tours and one tour of Japan. Their last LP/CD with a
PUSHEAD artwork cover sold over 8,000 copies in less then a year. This
CD includes: "Aborted Teen Generation" 7" (havoc/busted
head records),"For The Kids, Not The Business" 7" (deranged

7" is most similar to side B of the s/t LP. Limited press of 500

best ep which includes their song 'Police. This record only reaffirms
the superb song writing and delivery abilities of this young Canadian
band. Catchy, powerful straight forward, yet melodic hardcore punk. A
fresh combination of mid-tempo growling vocals ala Negative Approach and
driving rhythm like Adolescents/Germs. A full-length now in the works.

with DS13 and they do a cover of "Dicks Hate The Police" by

6 "keep on keeping on"...LP/CD $9..."Hailing from Japan,
NK 6 dish out nine blasts of hard hitting hardcore. The style is pretty
classic Japanese thrash with a bit of melody and a crazed approach (would
you expect anything less?!). Complete GAUZE worship at work and just so
happens that Fugu from Gauze produced this little gem. "
DEMON SYSTEM 13 vad vet vi om kriget? LP/CD (remastered) ...$9... "Sweden's
DS-13 have finally released a full length of 27 tracks of raging hardcore
that is influenced by early '80s sounding American hardcore and Swedish
thrash. The end result is a sound that is blazing with anger, fury, and
speed. Energetic and raw, yet also catchy. This time around they do covers
by Refused and Negative Approach. Great music combined with pissed off
lyrics. "

a year or so in the works and it has been definitely worth the wait. Like
repeated punches to the temple, it just doesn't let up. 25 songs of frustrated,
pissed off lyrics dealing with scene politics, hating the cops, skateboarding
and, of course, religion. The heaviness of NEGATIVE APPROACH and INFEST
mixed with the metallic edge of SEPTIC DEATH. Controversial and essential.

INTENSITY "the ruins of our future" LP...$9... "Killer
hardcore, another stirring batch of material for this Swedish band. Speed,
fury and drama, along with the occasional hint of melody but Intensity
keep it in overdrive all the time. Featuring members of SATANIC SURFERS
(bad taste, fat records) It rages and there's substance on the lyrical
plate, taking issue with class divisions, the price of development and
racism. A multi-lingual effort, with songs sung in English, Swedish and
Spanish. Complete burn. "
E.T.A "no faith" LP/CD...$9..."More negative and brutal
thrash from Epileptic Terror Attack. Thirteen blistering spastic thrashers
about skateboarding, hating the world, and not giving a fuck. They do
a Circle Jerks cover and they love early '80s hardcore. Recorded during
the same session as the songs on their split with Tear It Up. Ex-members
of DS-13. "
HAMMER s/t 12" $ 9 very cool!!! This is a limited vinyl version
(only 1000 pressed) of the CD that come out on the JAPANESE label DISCRETE
a while back, good to see this on vinyl... musically, fantastic fast paced
Japanese HC, similar to GAUZE meets more traditional J-Core...just in
time for the bands tour with SIGNAL LOST in october. (DERANGED / CANADA)
HIGHSCORE "new fuel" LP...$9... "North American press of
the their first LP. The European press is now sold out forever. Their
recent 2nd LP was on 625 records. Musically, Highscore are playing high
energy youth crew style hardcore, comparable to Uniform Choice. Loud,
powerful vocals screamed over fast straight ahead hardcore with some chorus
parts just to keep you involved is what Highscore does best. Their lyrics
are all pro-hardcore and anti-rock star. Down to earth and just rockin'
as best they can with no regrets. Solid and totally energetic."
OUT COLD/ VOORHEES "split "...12"...$9... "Now here
is a bona fide ass-kicking if ever there was one!!! Massachusetts' Out
Cold are in top form on here. Absolute adrenaline pumping, old school
hardcore thrashing, no grind, no power violence, no emo... Just straight
up, kicked in the face, hardcore punk rock. Sounds right out of 1983 and
metal free. Voorhees should be no mystery to the readers of this mag and
do not disappoint (as if they ever have) on this disc. Back to the early
basics of their early releases, these UK thrashers can play flawless hardcore
punk in their sleep. Both bands excel at the bitter "I hate you"
lyrics of traditional hardcore punk, no holds barred and fist in the gut.
A much needed breath of fresh air for this reviewer after countless grind
and crust reviews. A must own. "

RAMMER 7"...$3.50 Whoa, here's some
blistering metal from ex-members of Chokehold, Left for Dead, and Uranus.
The two songs herein were on the band's second demo, and their style is
somewhat raw, thrashy metal with a little bit of melody, some basic solos,
throaty vocal screams (not in an overly aggressive manner), etc. This
EP is limited to 500 copies, so if you're down with vinyl and/or too lazy

Swedish, but you'd never guess that by listening to them... "Taking
the best part of the STIFF LITTLE FINGERS, NEWTOWN NEUROTICS and the CHORDS,

DOWN IN FLAMES - What The Fuck CD...$4 This is their best release to date by far. The songs fly by at 1000 mph, with quick time changes, screamed vocals and an occasional breakdown. They have really come into their own on this full length, showing that they can blaze through an LPs worth of material and leave your ears smoking.
